Erdem Ateşağaoğlu has graduated in law from the Istanbul University in 2003 and has started his academic profession at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, Fiscal Law Department in 2004. He has become a researcher at University of Minnesota Law School during 2008. He has completed his master studies in 2005 and doctoral degree in 2011 from Istanbul University. He has appointed as ‘assistant professor’ in 2013 and obtained his ‘associate professor’ title as a  lecturer at Istanbul University Faculty in 2017.

His professional experience is in the field of Tax Law, Public Procurement Law, Capital Market Law, Company Law, Merger and Acquisition, Financial Restructuring and Protection of Personal Data.

Dr. Ateşağaoğlu is a member of International Fiscal Association and Istanbul Tax Center. His three books, two book chapters, numerous articles and presentations has been published by well-known publishers and journals.
